What new in 1.60 and 1.61

Dreamie keeps getting better. What's new in 1.60 and 1.61.

Dreamie was designed to live at your bedside for years, not one product cycle. Every few weeks it installs an update on its own while it's idle, and each one makes it a little more capable than the day you unboxed it. The last two updates are a good picture of how that works.

1.60: light and sound

The lamp got 25 percent brighter. Reading in bed was the most common reason people asked for more light, and the touch strip still dims it down to almost nothing when you're ready to sleep.

Five new wake sounds joined the alarm library: Simple, Wind chime, Swell, Barnyard, and Up. Some are gentle, some have energy, and one has a rooster. Pick whichever gets you out of bed.

Podcasts gained a full episode view. Any show now opens into its complete back catalog, with search and a newest-to-oldest toggle, so finding that one episode a friend recommended no longer means scrolling.

1.61: listening

Podcast episodes now play at a consistent volume. Shows are produced at all kinds of levels, and Dreamie evens them out automatically, so a quiet episode no longer means reaching for the volume ring at midnight.

Bluetooth got broader and steadier. More headphones pair on the first try, reconnecting is more reliable, and a case where some newer headphones paired but stayed silent is fixed.

Bedtime Cue can now run every night, not only on nights with a schedule set. And the Podcasts tab shows the newest episode from each show you follow, so what's new is the first thing you see.

How these updates get made

Much of what shipped in 1.60 and 1.61 came from thoughtful feedback from our customers. Someone wrote in about a quiet episode, or headphones that went silent, or wanting a cue on nights they weren't setting an alarm. We read every message that comes in, we keep a running list, and the items that come up most are the ones that ship next. There's no app to update and nothing to sign into. Dreamie updates itself while it's idle.

What's ahead

The list is long, and it keeps growing with what you send us. Some of it is small, like new environmental sounds and soundscapes that arrive quietly with each update. Some of it is larger, and we'll talk about those pieces when they're ready rather than before. What stays the same is the shape of it: your Dreamie will do more next month than it does today, and you won't have to do anything to get there.
