WiFi Troubleshooting

What Dreamie uses WiFi for

WiFi is required for initial setup, software updates, new content delivery, podcasts, and auto time-sync after a power outage. It is not required for audio playback. All sounds are stored on the device and will continue to play without an internet connection.

Before you start

Dreamie requires a 2.4 GHz WiFi network. Many routers support both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. If Dreamie isn't seeing your network, you may need to enable 2.4 GHz support in your router's settings.

Troubleshooting steps

Try these in order.

1. Open WiFi settings. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the menu, then tap the WiFi icon at the top and connect to your network.

2. Check the WiFi icon after connecting. If the icon shows a "?" or an "x," Dreamie is connected to WiFi but not reaching the internet. This usually points to a router or internet connection issue. Try restarting your router and reconnecting.

3. Confirm 2.4 GHz is enabled on your router. If Dreamie isn't seeing your network at all, check your router settings and make sure 2.4 GHz is turned on.

4. Check range. Make sure Dreamie is close enough to your router. To rule out signal issues, try moving Dreamie closer and connecting again.

5. Power cycle Dreamie. Unplug it, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Once it's back up, swipe up from the bottom of the screen, tap the WiFi icon, and try connecting again.
